Yeovil Town closed the gap on Scunthorpe United at the top of League Two when they came from behind to convincingly win a pulsating local derby.

Kevin Gall, the Yeovil right-winger. gifted the visitors a goal in the 17th minute but later went home with the man of the match trophy after scoring the equaliser and giving the Cheltenham Town defence a torrid time.

In the 17tth minute a misplaced pass by Gall put Martin Devaney away and his drive took a big deflection to wrongfoot home keeper Chris Weale.

Yeovil were unlucky to be behind at this stage, but they set about putting things right and it was goal who drove home the equaliser on 30 minutes.

Yeovil went ahead just before the break when Phil Jevons scored his 15th goal of the season heading in across Darren Way.

In the 62nd minute Cheltenham had a let-off when a header from Bartosz Tarachulski rebounded off a post, but it was Yeovil's turn to have an escape three minutes later when a thunderous drive from Grant McCann crashed against the bar.

Yeovil were creating plenty of opportunities, however, and in the 79th minute Terry Skiverton had a header cleared of the line. Before the clearance was completed however, substitute Arron Davies knocked in his second goal in two substitute appearances since a move from Southampton.

The scoring was complete on 87 minutes when Paul Terry, brother of the England and Chelsea star John, scored from close range.
