Yates hopes to re-enter loan market

And Yates has his sights set an attack-minded player as he looks to guide the Gloucestershire club further from the drop zone, although he is fully aware of the financial constraints currently affecting almost every club up and down the country and the need to try and generate cash.

"The reasoning behind that (Labadie returning to West Brom) is we have a lot of central midfielders and right-backs and that's why, if anything, we let David Pipe go at the end of last month," Yates told Press Association Sport.

"At the minute, we've got no real width and we're not scoring enough goals. So you look at it and think perhaps we need some pace and width and someone who can put the ball in the back of the net. We've got some good players but we need to keep adding quality.

"That costs money but we're doing all we can. Finances are tight here, we know that. We've got to perhaps try and generate funds but clubs are finding it tough all over. We're not making excuses, we're trying to do one or two things and generate ways of bringing in one or two players. Whether that means getting people out or not...but it's difficult."
