Ward's close season highs and lows

John Ward has admitted to being frustrated by the difficulty of getting players to commit to new clubs during June.  Speaking to the Gloucestershire Echo he said that most players were contracted until the end of the month and will generally leave signing on the dotted line as long as possible in case of a better offer being received.

On a more positive note Ward has also predicted a good opportunity for the club's talented youngsters.  Players such as Michael Whittington and Michael Wylde may get the chance to emulate the successful transition to first team football showed by central defender Gavin Caines last season.
