Ward will not be drawn on Spencer contract

Despite an up turn in his form and fortunes Damien Spencer will still not be offered a new contract just yet.  The forward has scored in both of the last two matches, but weighs in with a mere seven for the season, prompting John Ward to praise the player's current form while firmly ruling out an immediate contract offer.

The robins desperately need a dependable and consistent striker and Spencer regularly divides opinion among the Cheltenham faithful.  The club have yet to find a regular scoring option since the days of the Alsop/Naylor little-and-large combination of a couple of seasons ago; and haven't enjoyed the presence of a scoring icon since Neil Grayson left the club.
