John Ward has told the Western Daily Press that he hopes positioning J.J. Melligan on the right wing will inspire his best form. The midfielder has stated his preference for a central role, but with McCann and Finnigan both fit it has been the injury to Brian Wilson that has let him fit in on the right hand side.

Melligan's performance against Bury in the season's opener on Saturday demonstrated how reinvigorated he is after the summer break, showing good positioning, creativity and tenacity that were sometimes lacking last season.
