Ward captures Premiership youngster on loan

Alan Morgan has joined up with Cheltenham in a deadline day loan deal. The 21 year old, who can play in either a left-back or wide attacking role, has been a professional at Ewood Park for two years.

The signing will be a relief to manager John Ward following a disappointing period of trying unsuccessfully to capture the signature of almost 30 attacking players. Morgan will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, which will come as welcome news if he impresses at Whaddon Road.

Going in the other direction is midfielder and reserve captain Graham Ward, having failed to achieve a position in the first team.  He joins the long-serving John Brough as well as newer faces Graham Fyfe and Luke Corbett who are also leaving the club in the summer.
