Robins swoop for Jeffers

Cheltenham have bolstered their attacking options on the eve of the new campaign by recruiting Coventry striker Shaun Jeffers. Jeffers will link up with the Robins as part of a month-long loan deal and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's npower League Two opener at Gillingham. The 18-year-old has been sent out by the Sky Blues to gain first-team experience and he could see his spell at Whaddon Road extended should his initial four-week stint prove successful. Cheltenham boss Mark Robins said: "I've seen him a couple of times and he is a strong boy with bags of potential. He is just over six feet tall, he has strength but mobility as well and he can get goals."
