New TV deal nets the Football League £110m

The Football League have secured a new three year deal with Sky and ITV believed to be in the region of £110 million. The new agree secures Sky the rights to broadcast around 100 live matches from the Football league, Carling Cup, LDV Vans Trophy and the Play-off finals.

The deal that was in place earned the 72 clubs of the football league £25m a season over four years, the new deal means an increase of around 40% and will extend the current deal to Summer 2009.
