Prior to the shock win by Northern Ireland over England, midfielder Grant Mcann expressed his desire to represent his country again. The player has been one of the highlights of an excellent start to the season and is a firm favorite with fans. McCann has previously been capped 8 times for his country.

Speaking to BBC Radio Gloucester, McCann said: "Lawrie Sanchez is picking James Quinn who plays in our league, the midfield is a strong area for Northern Ireland. There is also Steven Davis at Aston Villa and Damien Johnson at Birmingham who both play in the Premiership... I'll keep playing well for Cheltenham and look to get back in the squad."
