John Ward back at Lincoln

He made his debut as a 19-year-old in a 2-1 defeat at Workington and he scored his first goal for the club in his second match, a 5-4 defeat to York City.

Ward found the net 99 times in his time with Lincoln, including 24 League goals during the Division Four Championship winning 1975/76 season. Managed by Graham Taylor, the Imps took the title by six points
and Ward was named in the PFA Division Four Team of the Year.

The 74 points Lincoln finished with was a League record and they broke various other records in what was the most successful season in the club's history.
