Howarth full of praise for Robins

The three points were courtesy of Goulding`s ninth goal of the season in the 55th minute and came after Valiants skipper Gareth Owen had seen red late in the first half for pulling back Wes Thomas.

Howarth said: "Sending offs change games but I would rather have seen Wes Thomas go through and score.

"People say it can be difficult to play against 10 men and that is often the case. But we stayed patient and Jeff Goulding made the extra man count with some excellent movement in the box.

"The goal contained the best two pieces of quality in the game because it was a superb cross from Keith Lowe and Jeff buried his header with aplomb.

"I felt comfortable on the bench because we controlled the game against 10 men, but at 1-0 you are never safe and there were a couple of scares at the end which made me edgy in my seat."
