Gould Resigns after Rochdale Defeat

During the game, many Cheltenham fans were chanting 'we want Bobby out' and singing the name of ex-manager Steve Cotterill, currently without a club.

Former Wimbledon, West Brom and Bristol City boss Gould, who took over as manager from Graham Allner last season, made his way up to the boardroom after the final whistle, shook the hand of Chairman Paul Baker and the directors, and resigned there and then.

The club have issued a statement in which they say that they believe that Gould was treated 'appallingly' by the local media, reminded supporters that Gould had nearly kept them in Division 2 last season, and wished him luck for the future.

Bob Bloomer will take over as caretaker manager until a replacement is appointed.
