Deadly dozen being eyed up by Cheltenham.

Chairman Paul Baker has told the local press that 'at least twelve' proven scorers were being pursued by the robins. He told the Gloucestershire Echo that there is money outside of the club's normal funds for a player that would command a high salary by the club's standards, although no money is available for a transfer fee.

John Ward has already ruled out moves for Shaun Goater and Matthew Tipton this summer, but Town feel they now need to secure the signature of an established player that will have an important impact on the belief and ambition of the current squad. Fresh rumours of Michael Owen's desire to link up with Damien Spencer have fallen on deaf ears...
