Striker James Quinn has decided that he would rather be without a club than join Cheltenham for the forthcoming season. The Northern Ireland forward has also turned down a move to fellow League 2 club Peterborough.
The 30-year-old was on the books at Sheffield Wednesday, but relations with the club have turned for the worst and the player is now unlikely to receive a contract extension.
John Ward has refused to discuss Quinn with the Gloucestershire Echo, but told that paper yesterday that he was waiting on a player to whom an improved offer had been made and expected to hear from the player today.
