Armstrong agrees terms with Cheltenham

Craig Armstrong has agreed terms with the robins pending a medical today. The player is meeting with the club and according to the official website, could turn out against Bishops Cleeve this evening if everything goes smoothly.

The 30-year-old has been training with Notts County, but Ward is confident that he will become a robin. Considering the concern of fans over the past two months, it would be surprising for the club to announce this news without the deal being done.

Armstrong began his career at Nottingham Forest and after loan moves to Bristol Rovers (to join John Ward), Gillingham and Watford, he moved to Huddersfield for £750,000. He notched up over 100 appearences for the terriers before moving to Sheffield Wednesday for £100,000. He spent 3 years with the club before short spells at Grimsby on loan and Bradford City last season.

UPDATE @ 15:33 - Armstrong has now signed for Cheltenham.
