Allner Sacked As Manager

Last updated : 13 January 2003 By Tim
Allner only took over from Steve Cotterill in the summer, but with Cheltenham only one place of the bottom of the table the board decided to sack him, and his assistant Mike Davis as of today.

The shock decision was only paid on Saturday afternoon after the board had a meeting when the Tranmere game should have been taking place, so if the game had gone ahead who know's if he would still be in charge today.

Chris Banks, Mark Yates and Bob Bloomer will take charge of the team until a new manager is appointed, so far over 30 names have applied for the job.
