The Rogue Robin: What's the score?

So then, an unsurprising 61 % of you thought that our top transfer priority is a forward this summer.  This view also seems to be held by Paul Baker, who has suggested that extra funds for wages may be available for securing the signature of a 'high profile striker'.  The good news is that Matthew Tipton has yet to put pen to paper, so he's still a possiblity - and one that comes with a proven ability to hit the back of the net.

A fair few robins supporters seem to be falling into a state of mind that sees the club as currently stagnating, the momentum that was provided by Steve Cotterill's mercurial ability has given way to an inertia in many people's eyes.  But it's important for us to remember that League 2 is almost certain to be the most open of the English professional leagues again next season and if we can bag ourselves a consistantly scoring forward, freeing up the midfield and defence, then we have a great chance of at least making the play-offs again.

The real transfer frenzy hasn't yet begun in the football world, but for a club like the robins it's important for us to try and secure signatures as early as possible, players of good calibre don't hang around for long down here without a contract and the spirit of both the club and the supporters could be raised massively by a fairly well-known player joining our ranks.  I personally believe that an experienced player would be of great value to us, the effect of Peter Beagrie at Scunthorpe has been tremendous.

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait to see who Ward and Baker come up with, remember we'll have up-to-date news of signings and all other news here on CTM.  And if you like to add anything please drop us a line.  Cheers again and enjoy the summer sun.
