The Rogue Robin: in the Summertime...

Last updated : 10 June 2005 By Jaimie Henderson
So the season's over and we football fans fall into our annual period of emotional and mental hibernation. There's no major tournament on this summer in terms of international men's football and I have to cling on to the hope that some lacklustre Confederations Cup matches might sate my appetite for football until early August. Although mention should be made to the Women's European Championship we are currently hosting, I wish the England team the best of luck, but it's somehow not the same is it?...

Well, here we are, and welcome to our shiny new column! This is my fairly irreverent and largely irrelevant take on what's going on with the robins and in the game in general. It's all part of a belated spring clean around the site to offer you all a smarter, leaner and, we like to think, superior robins site. The message board seems to be full of Burnley fans at the moment, so we'd love to see more of you on there. Wild speculation on the purchase of players who'll never join us, banter with supporters of other clubs (but watch that potty mouth) and anything else to vent your spleen; the other supporters keep dissing the board and we can't be having that, not on my watch!
